CPC CPD Event: Touch in Child Psychotherapy

Child Psychotherapy Council Presents:

Touch in Child Psychotherapy

Sunday 17th March

10am - 4pm

The Child Psychotherapy Council is dedicated to the advancement of child psychotherapy as a distinct profession within the field of child and adolescent mental health.

CPD certificates will be issued (5 hours)

This workshop reflects on the issue of using touch in child psychotherapy and on the difficulties encountered around this topic. Touch can be a powerful and healing resource, but it often remains an uncomfortable subject in any psychotherapeutic setting. This introduction addresses historical, neurodevelopmental, relational and emotional influences that formed our current perception of the medium touch in child psychotherapy.

The facilitators will integrate evidence-based research and practice, discussion, experimental and clinical exercises to explore about how to use touch in an ethical and therapeutic manner.
